Our newest resource, The Wellness Compass Notebook for Parents, has been designed to support individual parents and others who are doing the very important work of raising children. The Notebook for Parents offers a flexible tool for parents who are looking for support and guidance as they seek greater wellness and balance in all areas of their family’s life.

This interactive resource—created out of many decades of work with parents—has been carefully designed to help parents pause and examine the habits they are developing in their families in eight dimensions of wellness as they relate to family life. 

This 172-page, 8.5 x 11 notebook is easy and enjoyable to use for any parents or for those who work with parents. The notebook includes key concepts, resources, and tools for each chapter, as well as a resource appendix in the back.

Each Notebook in this series—for Adults, Parents, and Teens—offers tools, resources, and reflections, questions, and a process for mapping of a journey of growth and change by eight areas of wellness. 

Each of the eight chapters devoted to one area of well-being has been organized into three steps that will help guide you through the material.

  • Step One: Learning. Here we introduce and explore one of the eight areas of wellness, and then share several reflections on topics related to that area of wellness.

  • Step Two: Listening to Yourself. In the second section of each chapter we invite you to listen to the whispers that are letting you know what may need more of your attention. Here you will take a Wellness Self-Assessment, have an opportunity to Map Your Current Reality, and respond to related reflection questions.

  • Step Three: Living It. In the third section of each chapter you will fill out the Mapping Your Journey of Growth and Change page, and complete a SMART Step Worksheet. This interactive process has been designed to help you clarify and decide what next steps you are ready to take toward a greater sense of well-being in a particular area of wellness.

This process of change and growth is a journey, and like any journey, it is important to make sure we are intentional about the direction in which we are headed. The Wellness Compass Notebook Series offers an opportunity for YOU to take a look at your life and to help you think about how you feel about the direction your life is going. Just as many use a compass to help check their bearings and make sure they are headed in the direction they intend, we hope this Series will become a trusted compass for you, offering tools and resources to support you as you pause to examine the significant choices you are making each day in your life.
